People perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved

2 The 2:10

⁹ The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, ¹⁰ and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Pro 4:6

⁶ Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;
    love her, and she will watch over you.

⁷ The beginning of wisdom is this: Get^[a] wisdom.
    Though it cost all you have,^[b] get understanding.

John 3:17-19

¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ¹⁸ Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. ¹⁹ This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    People perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved

3)    The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
    Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

4)    God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

5)    Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
