Encouraging and strengthening believers
in their faith so that no one will be unsettled by these trials
1 The 3:3
We sent
Timothy, who is our brother and co-worker in God’s
service in spreading the gospel of Christ, to
strengthen and encourage you in your faith, 3 so that no one would be unsettled by these trials.
Mk 4:17
14 The farmer sows the word. 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is
sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes
and takes away the word that was sown in them.
16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at
once receive it with joy.
17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time.
When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
John 16:33
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you
may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But
take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Rom 5:3
3 Not only so, but we[c] also
glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;4 perseverance, character; and
character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been
poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has
been given to us.
2 Cor 1:4
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all
our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we
ourselves receive from God.
2 Cor 4:17
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an
eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since
what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Tim 3:12
12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ
Jesus will be persecuted,13 while evildoers and
impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving
and being deceived.
