Obeying the Lord brings blessings in our life

Deut 28:4, 5, 6, 8

² All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

³ You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

⁴ The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

⁵ Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

⁶ You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

⁷ The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

⁸ The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

We learn the following from the above verses

²⁸ At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, ²⁹ so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

3)    God will richly bless you,  if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands

1)    The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you

2)    When you put God’s name on people, God blesses them

3)     The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

⁵ From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    God blessed Potiphar and his household because of Joseph

2)     God will come and bless us wherever His name is honored

⁴ I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring^[a] all nations on earth will be blessed,^[b] 5 because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions.

¹¹ After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who then lived near Beer Lahai Roi.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    God promised Isaac that He will be with him and his descendants to bless them

2)    Because Abraham obeyed God, He blessed Isaac and promised him all the nations of the earth will blessed through his descendants.

3)    Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. ¹³ The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.

Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.

³⁴ So he said, “I am Abraham’s servant. ³⁵ The Lord has blessed my master abundantly, and he has become wealthy. He has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah and said to her,

“Our sister, may you increase
    to thousands upon thousands;
may your offspring possess
    the cities of their enemies.”

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed God.

2)    Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.

3)    The Lord has blessed Abraham abundantly, and he has become wealthy. God has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

Gen 12:2, 3

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

² “I will make you into a great nation,
    and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
    and you will be a blessing.

³ I will bless those who bless you,
    and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.

Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.

¹⁸ Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, ¹⁹ and he blessed Abram, saying,

“Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
    Creator of heaven and earth.

    who delivered your enemies into your hand.”

¹⁷ Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? ¹⁸ Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.^[c] 19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    God will make you in to great nation, will make your name great and you will be a blessing

2)    God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 

3)    Abraham was blessed by the God Most High, who delivered his enemies in to his hand

4)    Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.

5)    God’s promises will come true in our life and we will inherit His blessings as children of God
