We became special as the very words of God have been entrusted to us

We became special as the very words of God have been entrusted to us

Rom 3:2

What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision?Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.

1 Cor 4:7

For who makes you Special from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have begun to reign—and that without us! How I wish that you really had begun to reign so that we also might reign with you!

1 Cor 15:41

40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

Heb 1:4

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    We became special as the very words of God have been entrusted to us

2)    For who makes you Special from anyone else? – It is God who makes you Special

3)    The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

4)    The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.

5)    Son of God became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant

Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant

Heb 7:21, 22

20 And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath, 21 but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:
“The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
    ‘You are a priest forever.’”[b]
22 Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.

Heb 8:6

But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

Heb 9:23

23 It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.

Heb 11:40

39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)     Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant

2)    In fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

3)    For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hand that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.

4)    These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

32 Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of? 33 Has any other people heard the voice of God[a] speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived?

35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other. 36 From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below.
