Are we trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?

Are we trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?

Gal 1:10

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

 1 Pet 3:4

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

1 Cor 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

2 Cor 10:18

18 For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

We learn the following from above verses

1)    If we were still trying to please people, we would not be a servant of Christ.

2)    Our beauty should be that of our inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

3)    Lord will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

4)    For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
