Praying to God to fill us with knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding

Col 1:9

⁹ For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,^[e] 

¹⁰ so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God

Rom 1:10

¹⁰ in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.

Eph 5:17

¹⁷ Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. ¹⁸ Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit

Eph 1:17

¹⁷ I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit^[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

We learn the following from the above verses

1) Praying to God to fill us with knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding

2) Knowledge of His will helps us live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God

3) Praying for the way to be opened for us by God’s will

4) We are to ask God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give us the Spirit^[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know Him better.
