Attaining to the resurrection from the dead
Php 3:11
10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection
and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
John 11:24
24 Martha
answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at
the last day.”
Rom 6:5
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we
will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin—
7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
Rev 20:5, 6
5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand
years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first
resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
We learn the
following from the above verses
1) Knowing the power of Christ’s resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death. So that we can be
part of the resurrection from dead
2) For if we have been united with Him in a death
like His, we will certainly also be united with Him in a resurrection like His.
3) Because anyone who has died to sin has been set
free from sin.
4) Blessed and holy are those who share in the first
resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
