The eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope for which we were called

The eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope for which we were called

Eph 1:18

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

2 Cor 4:6

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

2 Pet 1:19

19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  We are to pray that eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope for which we were called

2)  God made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of His glory

3)  Paying attention to completely reliable prophetic message will help us do well as to a light shining in a dark place, for prophets spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit
