Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not
consist in an abundance of possessions.
Luke 12:15
15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your
guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of
possessions.”
Luke 17:3
3 So watch yourselves.
“If your brother or
sister[a] sins
against you, rebuke them; and
if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin
against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I
repent,’ you must forgive them.”
Luke 20:47
46 “Beware
of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love
to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important
seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 47 They
devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be
punished most severely.”
Luke 21:8, 34
8 He replied: “Watch out that you
are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The
time is near.’ Do not follow them.
34 “Be
careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and
the anxieties of life, and that
day will close on you suddenly like a
trap. 35 For it
will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
36 Be always
on the watch, and pray that you
may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to
stand before the Son of Man.”
