Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues.
Mt 10:17
17 Be on
your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. 18 On my
account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when
they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it
will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Mt 18:10
10 “See
that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their
angels in heaven always
see the face of my Father in heaven.
Mt 24: 4, 6
4 Jesus
answered: “Watch
out that no one deceives you. 5 For many
will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will
hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such
things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation
will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these
are the beginning of birth pains.
