God commands everyone to repent

God commands everyone to repent

Acts 17:30
30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Luke 24:47
45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Tit 2:11, 12
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)   God commands everyone to repent
2)   After resurrection Jesus opened disciples eyes and minds to know the scripture
3)   Jesus mentioned to His disciples that repentance will be preached to all the nations in His name.
Jesus died for us to make us His very own.
