Practicing hospitality

Rom 12:13

¹³ Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

2 Ki 4:10

¹⁰ Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us.”

 1 Ti 3:2

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. ² Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, ³ not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

Heb 13:2

² Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

1 Pet 4:9

⁹ Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. ¹⁰ Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)   Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality

2)   Shunammite had showed hospitality to the man of God Elisha

3)   Whoever aspires to be an overseer is to be hospitable

4)   Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it

5)   Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
