Jesus Christ
destroyed the death and
has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel
2 Tim 1:10
9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but
because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus
before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed through
the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has
destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the
gospel.
1 Cor 15:26
24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God
the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he
has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.”[c] Now when
it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does
not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
1 Cor 15:54
53 For
the perishable must
clothe itself with the imperishable, and
the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable
has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then
the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in
victory.”[h]
56 The sting of death is
sin, and
the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He
gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We learn the
following from the above verses
1) Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has
brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
2) The last enemy to be destroyed is death
3) For the
perishable must
clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality. When the
perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been
swallowed up in victory.
