Necessity of self control

Acts 24:25

²⁴ Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁵ As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” 

Gal 5:23

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

1 Th 5:6

⁵ You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. ⁶ So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)   Paul talked to Felix about righteousness, self-control and judgment to come.

2)  One of the fruit of spirit is self-control

3)  We are children of light and children of the day, so let us be alert and self-controlled
