Jesus by His
death broke the power of death and freed our lives held in slavery by the fear
of death
Heb 2:14
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too
shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him
who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—15 and free those who all
their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Gen 3:15
15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush[b] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush[b] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”
1 Cor
15:54-57
54 When
the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been
swallowed up in victory.”[h]
56 The
sting of death is sin, and
the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He
gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Tim 1:10
9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but
because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus
before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed through
the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has
destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the
gospel.
