Being an
apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God’s elect and the knowledge of truth
that leads to Godliness
Tit 1:1
Paul, a servant of God and
an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s
elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness
1 Tim 2:2 -
4
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions,
prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we
may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and
holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our
Savior, 4 who wants all people to be
saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
2 Tim 2:25
25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God
will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the
trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
We learn the
following from the above verses
1) Being an apostle of Jesus Christ for
the faith of God’s elect and the knowledge of truth that leads to Godliness
2) First of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and
all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and
holiness. This is good, and pleases God our
Savior, who wants all people to be
saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
3) People who do not know Christ must be gently
instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a
knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their
senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them
captive to do his will.
