Repent and be baptized, every
one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:39
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every
one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 The promise is for you and your children and for
all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Acts 7:5, 17
5 He gave him no
inheritance here, not even enough
ground to set his foot on. But God promised him that he and his descendants
after him would possess the land, even
though at that time Abraham had no child.
17 “As the time drew near
for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt
had greatly increased.
Acts 2:33
32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we
are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the
right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has
poured out what you now see and hear.
Acts 1:5
4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them
this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the
gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with[a] water, but in a
few days you will be baptized with[b] the Holy
Spirit.”
We learn the
following from the above verses
1) Repent and be baptized, every
one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you
will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2) God
promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had
no child.
3) As the
time drew near for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our
