We must remain in Christ to bear fruit

We must remain in Christ to bear fruit

John 15:2, 4, 16

2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful.

4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Rom 7:4

4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

We learn the following from the above verses

1) He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful.

2) No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.

3) We must remain in Christ to bear fruit

4) God chose us and appointed us so that we might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever we ask in His name the Father will give us.

5) we died to the law through the body of Christ in order that we might bear fruit for God
