We are died
on earthly things and our life is hidden in Christ
Col 3:2
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Rom 6:2
2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can
we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into
Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order
that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through
the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
2 Cor 5:14
14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that
one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer
live for themselves but for him who died for them and was
raised again.
Rom 8:13
13 For
if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but
if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you
will live.
14 For
those who are led by the Spirit of God are
the children of God.
Col 3:5
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual
immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is
idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
1 Pet 2:24
24 “He himself bore our sins” in
his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and
live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
We learn the following from the above verses
1) We are died on earthly things and our
life is hidden in Christ
2) We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order
that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through
the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
3) Christ died for all, that those who live should no longer
live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was
raised again.
4) If by
the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
5) For
those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
6) Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual
immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is
idolatry.
7) “He Himself
bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so
that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by His
wounds you have been healed.”
