Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ

Gal 6:2

2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

1 Cor 9:21

21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.

22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings.

Living according to Spirit

Living according to Spirit

Rom 8:3 -5, 8, 9, 12, 13

3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh,4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.

2)  God condemned sin in the flesh,4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

3)  Those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

4)  We, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in us.

5)  If by the Spirit we put to death the misdeeds of the body, we will live.

Those who belong to Christ have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires

Those who belong to Christ have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires

Gal 5:24

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Rom 6:6

6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

Rom 7: 5, 18

5 For when we were in the realm of the flesh,[a] the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.

18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)   Those who belong to Christ have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires

2)  For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin

3)  For we know that good itself does not dwell in our sinful nature
