Be still and know our Lord

Psalm 46:10

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”

Heb 8:11

11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
    or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
    from the least of them to the greatest.

12 For I will forgive their wickedness
    and will remember their sins no more.

Jer 16:21

20 Do people make their own gods?
    Yes, but they are not gods!”

21 “Therefore I will teach them—
    this time I will teach them
    my power and might.
Then they will know
    that my name is the Lord.


Jer 31:34

33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
    after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
    and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
    and they will be my people.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    Be still and know our Lord

2)    From the least to greatest will know the Lord, for He will forgive their wickedness and remembers their sins no more.

3)    Through His power and might people will know He is the Lord.

4)    God will put His law in our minds and write them in our hearts and He will be our God and we will be His people.

Exo 7:18

17 This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.

11 The Lord said to Moses, 12 “I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, ‘At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’”

Deut 29:5

Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.

You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”


1 Sam 17:46

45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    God protects us so that we might know that He is our Lord God

2)    God performs wonders so that our enemies might know that He is our God

3)    God provides for us so that we might know that He is our God

4)    God provides victory for us so that whole world might know He is our Lord God

    guard the words of your lips.

Eze 33:5

16 “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,”[e] says the Lord Almighty.
So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

We learn the following from the above verses

“Beware of your friends;
    do not trust anyone in your clan.

For every one of them is a deceiver,[c]
    and every friend a slanderer.

Friend deceives friend,
    and no one speaks the truth.

They have taught their tongues to lie;
    they weary themselves with sinning.

You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb.

Deut 15:9

Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: “The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin.

In cases of defiling skin diseases,[a] be very careful to do exactly as the Levitical priests instruct you. You must follow carefully what I have commanded them.

18 But keep away from the defiled things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it.

“Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left. Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them. But you are to hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have until now.

We learn the following from the above verses
