Eph 6:10

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

2 Sam 10:12

12 Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight.”

Psalm 27:14

14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Hag 2:4

But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty. 

‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’

1 Cor 16:13

13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.

2 Tim 2:1

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

2)  Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight.

Bringing up the Children in the training and instruction of the Lord

Eph 6:4

Fathers,[b] do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Gen 18:19

18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.[c] 

19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

Deut 6:7

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 


These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 

Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.


Pro 13:24
24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children,
    but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.

Pro 22:6
Start children off on the way they should go,
    and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  We are to bring up our children in the training and instruction of the Lord.

2)  Directing our children and household to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right, would bring blessings.

3)   Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

4)  The one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.



5)  Start children off on the way they should go,
    and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Ex 20:12

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Job 1:21

20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
    and naked I will depart.[c]
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
    may the name of the Lord be praised.”

Psalm 34:1

I will extol the Lord at all times;
    his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

Col 3:17

17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2)  When Job was in distress said
            “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
              may the name of the Lord be praised.”

3)  We will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on our lips.

4)  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Eph 5:19

18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,

Psalm 27:6

Then my head will be exalted
    above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
    I will sing and make music to the Lord.

Psalm 95:2

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
    let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
    and extol him with music and song.

Acts 16:25

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 

1 Cor 14:15, 26

15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.

3)  Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
