The earth is Lord’s and everything in it

1 Cor 10:26

26 for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it;
for he founded it on the seas
    and established it on the waters.

Ex 9:29

29 Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s.

Ex 19:5

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you[a] will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ 

Job 41:11

11 Who has a claim against me that I must pay?
    Everything under heaven belongs to me.

Psalm 50:12

12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,
    for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

1 Ti 4:4

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    The earth is Lord’s and everything in it

Seeking the good of others so that they may be saved

1 Cor 10:24

24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

1 Cor 10:33

33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

Rom 15: 1, 2

We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.

1 Cor 13:5

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Php 2:4, 21

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    We are to seek the good of others so that they may be saved

2)    Paul was trying to please everyone so that they may be saved

3)    We are to be strong to bear the failings of the weak and please our neighbors to build them up.

4)    Love does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs

5)    We are to show the humility of Jesus in our lives towards others

God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear

1 Cor 10:13

13 No temptation[c] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[d] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[e] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

2 Pet 2:9

(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.  

Psalm 37:33

33 but the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked
    or let them be condemned when brought to trial.
34 Hope in the Lord and keep his way.
He will exalt you to inherit the land;
    when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.

Rom 15:31

31 Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the Lord’s people there, 32 so that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.

Rev 3:10

10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear

2)  The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the Day of Judgment.

3)  The Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked
    or let them be condemned when brought to trial. Hope in the Lord and keep his way

4)  Prayer keeps us safe from the trials

Keeping Lord’s command will also keep us from trails

We are to run to get the crown that will last forever

1 Cor 9:25

25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

2 Tim 4:8

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

James 1:12

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

1 Pet 5:4

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

Rev 2:10

10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

Rev 3:11

11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 

 We learn the following from the above verses

1)    We are to run to get the crown that will last forever

2)    The Lord will award the crown of righteousness to all those who longed for His appearing

3)    Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him

4)    When the Chief Shepherd appears, we will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away

5)    We are to be faithful even to the point of death, and God will give us life as our victor’s crown

6)    God is coming soon to reward us with the crown of life

We have a God for us through whom we live


We have a God for us through whom we live

1 Cor 8:6

yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

Deut 6:4

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Psalm 86:10

10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds;
    you alone are God.

Eph 4:6

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

1 Tim 2:5

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  We have a God for us through whom we live

2)  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength

3)  God does great and marvelous deeds in our lives

Jesus is the mediator between God and mankind, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people
