Speaking a message of wisdom among the mature

Speaking a message of wisdom among the mature

1 Cor 2:6

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

Eph 4:13

11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Php 3:15

15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  We are to speak the message of wisdom among mature, so that our faith rest on God’s power

2)  Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

3)  God will make it clear to us on things that are obscure and not clear

We should be proud of what we are in Christ

We should be proud of what we are in Christ

1 Cor 1:31

31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[d]

Jer 9:23, 24

23 This is what the Lord says:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,

24 but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth,  for in these I delight,”
declares the Lord.

Psalm 34:2

I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

Psalm 44:8

In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.[d]

2 Cor 10:17

17 But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[b] 18 For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  We should be proud of what we are in Christ

2)  Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.

3)  Let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth,  for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

4)  I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

5)  In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.

God is stronger

God is stronger

1 Cor 1:25

25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Php 4:13

13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

2 Cor 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Php 2:13

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

2 Tim 4:17

17 But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)    The weakness of God is stronger than human strength

2)    We can do all things through Jesus who gives us strength.

3)    I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

4)    For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.

5)    The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.

Message of the cross is the power of God to us who are being saved

Message of the cross is the power of God to us who are being saved

Rom 1:18

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”[c]

Rom 3:23

22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Rom 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 10:9

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 10:13

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”[f]

We learn the following the above verses

1)    Message of the cross is the power of God to us who are being saved

2)    Message of the cross is about God’s love for us
a.      All are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

b.     The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

c.      God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

d.     If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

e.     Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

God will keep you strong till the end

God will keep you strong till the end

 1 Cor 1:8

He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Pet 5:10, 11

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.

Heb 4:15, 16

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Mt 24:35

35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

John 6:68, 69

68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

2 Cor 4:16

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

We learn the following from the above verses

1)  God will keep you strong till the end

2)  He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ

3)  The God of all grace will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.  To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.

4)  As we have a high priest who is able to empathize with our weaknesses, let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

5)  Heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s word will never pass away.

6)  God will keep us firm through His words of eternal life

7)  We will be strong as we have been renewed inwardly everyday
