Love your neighbor as yourself

Mark 12:31(One of the greatest commandments is ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’)
                31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[a] There is no commandment greater than these.”

Lev 19:18(Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself)
                18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Mt 5:43(Love your neighbor, your enemy and pray for those who persecute you)
                43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 


Mt 19:19(To get eternal life, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[c]and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’)

   17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

We learn the following from the above verses

Our God is a God for our forefathers

 Mark 12:26(God will bless us as He did for our forefathers)
                26 Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[a]?

Ex 3:6(God’s purpose in our life will be accomplished, as that was done for Moses)
                6 Then he said, “I am the God of your father,[a] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

Gen 24:12(The senior servant of Abraham prayed to God to make him successful and show kindness to Abraham) – God will make us successful
                12 Then he prayed, “LORD, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.

Ex 4:5(Lord appeared to Moses so that others can understand that he is a servant of God)
                5 “This,” said the LORD, “is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”

Mt 22:32(Our God is not the God of the dead but of the living.)
                32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[a]? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”

Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s

Mark 12:17(Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”)
                17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
   And they were amazed at him.

Rom 13:7(Give to everyone what you owe them)
                7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Mt 17:24 – 26(Jesus paid the Tax to set an example)
                27 “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
               



Mt 22:17, 21(Jesus said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”)
                17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax[a] to Caesar or not?”
 18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”

 21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.
   Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

Lk 23:2(Jesus was accused of not paying taxes)
                2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.”

Forgiving others


forgiving others

Mark 11:25(when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them)
                25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Mt 6:14(when others sin against us we should forgive them)
                14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Mt 18:21-35(How many times should we forgive others?)
                21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[g]


Mk 11:25,26(we should forgive others so that the father in heaven also forgives us)
                 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Eph 4:32(we should be kind and compassionate to one another)
                32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Col 3:13(we should bear with each other and forgive one another)
                13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

We learn the following from the above verses

Mark 12:10
            10 Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture “‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;


Mark 12:11(What the Lord has done in our life is marvelous)
                11 the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’[a]?”

Acts 4:11(Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, has become the cornerstone.)
            11 Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’[a]

Psalm 118:22, 23(The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone)
                22 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; 
23 the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

Isa 28:16(If we rely on Jesus, we will stricken with panic)
            16 So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, 
   a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken    with panic.

Zec 10:4 (When God is with us, we can put the enemy horsemen to shame)

            20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

1 Pet 2:7(Jesus is precious for those who believe)
          7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”[a]

                26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Gen 18:14(Nothing is too hard for the Lord)
                14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Job 42:2(God can do everything and God’s purpose in our life cannot be thwarted)
                2 “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Jer32:17(Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you)
